Paris Saint-Germain will begin their preparations for the 2022-23 campaign on Friday afternoon with a pre-season clash against Ligue 2 outfit Quéville.
Christophe Galtier's side are in action for their Ligue 1 opener against Clermont on August 6, while Quévilli begin their Ligue 2 campaign at home to Rodez on July 30. PSG reclaimed the Ligue 1 title last season, finishing top of the division with a total of 86 points, 15 ahead of second-placed Marseille.
The capital giants were knocked out in the last 16 of the Coupe de France and the Champions League, however, and the season ended in disappointment, which played a part in Mauricio Pochettino stepping down as head coach. Gaultier is now in charge of the Blues and the 55-year-old will lead PSG for the first time in this fixture, while the team will also face Kawasaki Frontale, Urawa Reds and Gamba Osaka in friendlies before taking on Nantes this summer. Trophy des Champions on July 30.
PSG's 2022-23 Ligue 1 campaign kicks off at home to Clermont on August 6 and it will be interesting to see if there are any more new faces through the door. Nuno Mendes joined permanently from Sporting Lisbon, while Vitinha moved from Porto, but it has been a quiet summer for the club, with Manchester United turning down the chance to sign centre-forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Quéville, meanwhile, finished 18th in Ligue 2 last season, which saw them enter the relegation playoffs, but managed to beat Villefranche 5-1 on aggregate to ensure they stay in the second tier. The red and yellows opened their pre-season on Saturday with a 2-1 defeat at Le Havre and they now have friendlies against PSG and Amiens SC before the 2022-23 campaign begins.
Quilly will host Rodez in the opening match of the new Ligue 2 season on July 30 before traveling to Paris FC in their first match of August. Fabian Mercadel's side have been busy in terms of incomings this summer, right up to their excellent acquisition of Sissokho who moved from Clermont. A number of players have also left on free transfers so their squad will have another look next season, much needed given their struggles during the 2021-22 campaign.
